01ME-80 FUZZ (built-in)
Use MUFF-style fuzz setting if available; this replicates the FZ-2's gritty octave-up character. Stack INTO the R-FIER amp — the ME-80 handles gain staging well internally
02ME-80 NS (Noise Suppressor)
Essential for Drop C# to keep detuned strings tight during palm-muted chugs
Your GRG170DX has Infinity humbuckers — medium output, slightly brighter than Carpenter's JBs. The R-FIER amp type on the ME-80 emulates Rectifier-style voicing, which gets you the scooped-but-heavy character. I dropped mid to 4 (vs 5-6 on original) because the ME-80's R-FIER already has a mid-forward bias compared to real Rectos. Roll tone knob to 7 to tame the Infinity pickup's high-end.
