01Treble Booster or Tube Screamer (TS9/TS808 style)
RECOMMENDED — not currently owned. Blackmore's AIWA preamp acted as a treble booster pushing the Marshall into saturation. A TS-style pedal with low drive and high level approximates this. Without this pedal, crank the amp gain to 10 and accept a less articulate result.
The IBZ10G is a solid-state practice amp with limited headroom and a scooped mid character—opposite of Blackmore's modified Marshall Major. Pushed the mid to 7 to compensate for the amp's natural scoop. Rolled treble back to 6 because the Schecter's humbuckers are darker and hotter than Blackmore's single-coil Strat—combined with the IBZ10G's bright solid-state voicing, higher treble gets harsh. Without a booster pedal, this amp cannot authentically replicate the AIWA-pushed Marshall saturation; a cheap TS clone is essential to get close.
