Why these settings

Chuck Schuldiner achieved his iconic biting tone using a high-output DiMarzio X2N into a solid-state Marshall Valvestate 8100 with boosted mids. Since the Borne Vorax is a compact practice amp, run the Boss MT-2 as your primary gain source into the amp's clean channel with amp gain kept low at 2 to avoid muddy double-clipping. Set the MT-2's parametric Mid Freq around 1 to 2 kHz and boost Middle to recreate the cutting Valvestate mid-bark.

PRO TIPChuck tuned one whole step down to D Standard (D-G-C-F-A-D) and picked extremely aggressively near the bridge with heavy downstrokes to keep the fast staccato riffing tight and articulate.
