Why these settings

The Davis GE-15 is a basic solid-state practice amp with an 8-inch speaker and a two-band EQ, so mid, presence, and reverb are omitted. Because the Boss DS-1 handles all the distortion to replicate the song's buzzy DI fuzz tone, keep the GE-15 on its Clean channel with low gain to prevent muddy solid-state clipping. Setting the DS-1 Tone to 4 keeps your Strat-style single-coils from sounding excessively piercing through a small speaker.

PRO TIPUse the Strat 'in-between' position 4 (bridge+middle) and strike the open strings and barre chords with consistent, percussive downstrokes right next to the bridge to capture that tight, robotic bedroom-pop drive.
