Why these settings

Original used single-coil Strat neck pickup; your Les Paul humbuckers are warmer and higher output. Roll tone knob to 6 to tame upper mids and approximate the glassy Strat character. Treble stays neutral (5) because the humbucker already lacks the Strat's ice-pick highs. Gain set low (3) for pristine cleans — this tone has zero amp breakup.

PRO TIPThe magic is in the volume swells and touch dynamics. Pick closer to the neck for a rounder attack, let notes ring into the reverb tail, and use the expression pedal to fade notes in after picking — Wilsey's hands did more work than his gear.
