A Princeton Reverb cannot produce modern Mesa high-gain on its own, so amp Volume is pushed to 8 for maximum natural power-tube breakup while keeping Bass at 4 to prevent low-end flub in drop tuning. The Stratocaster bridge single-coil is compensated with the guitar Tone at 7 and amp Treble at 5 to shave off glassy bite and emulate a PRS humbucker. Adding a dedicated high-gain distortion pedal will instantly achieve the true modern rectifier saturation; once acquired, set amp volume to 3 and run the pedal as your primary dirt source. Clean verse: roll guitar volume back to 3-4 for a gritty clean break.
