01Tube Screamer style overdrive (TS9 / TS808 clone)
RECOMMENDED — not currently owned. Essential to fatten your Strat's single coils and push the amp into Marshall-like territory. A Behringer TO800, Joyo Vintage Overdrive, or Boss SD-1 would work. Without this pedal, increase amp gain to 8 and accept a thinner, less compressed tone.
The original uses humbuckers into a cranked Marshall — your Strat's single coils are brighter and lower output, so I raised mids to 7 (vs typical Marshall 5-6) and kept treble conservative at 5 to avoid ice-pick harshness. The HB-40R is a solid-state practice amp with less natural compression than a tube Marshall, so a TS-style pedal in front is critical to get that thick, singing sustain Bărar had. Without it, the tone will be usable but lack body.
