RECOMMENDED — not currently owned; essential for tightening the low-end chug on passive single coils
The Marshall DSL1HR lacks a physical presence control and resonance knob, so use the Ultra Gain channel with the Tone Shift button disengaged to retain essential midrange punch. To compensate for passive Strat single coils against the recorded active EMG 81 humbuckers, amp gain is pushed to 8, guitar tone is slightly dialed back to 8 to shave single-coil glassiness, and mid is pulled slightly below center to mimic the 5150 rhythm scoop without vanishing. Clean intro: switch to the Classic Gain channel with guitar volume rolled back to 7.
