Use as a boost to tighten low-end and add midrange aggression before the amp's gain stage

Why these settings

The Katana's Brown channel emulates the 5150/high-gain Marshall voicing that defined Swedish death metal. The SD-1 at low drive tightens the flubby low-end and pushes mids forward, replicating the HM-2-influenced chainsaw texture. Mids at 7 because this tone lives in the grinding 800Hz-2kHz range. Your HSS Kramer's bridge humbucker has lower output than EMGs, so gain stays at 7 rather than backing off further.

PRO TIPPalm mute directly over the bridge pickup for that percussive Swedish chunk—the attack definition comes from pick placement more than EQ.
