War pigs amp settings — Fender Mustang LT25
The Black Sabbath guitar tone for “War pigs”, dialed in for a Fender Mustang LT25 with a Harley benton R-446. Studio version, Paranoid (1970)
Gibson SG Special (C# tuning) → Dallas Rangemaster treble booster → Laney Supergroup 100W (cranked)
| Knob | Setting (0–10) |
|---|---|
| Gain | 7 |
| Bass | 6 |
| Mid | 7 |
| Treble | 6 |
| Reverb | 0 |
| Master | 5 |
The Mustang LT25 has no presence knob. Selected British 70s amp model to approximate the Laney Supergroup's EL34 midrange character. Pushed mids +1 over original to compensate for lacking the Rangemaster treble booster — the LT25's British models don't have that germanium upper-mid push built in. Gain at 7 reaches the cranked-but-clear saturation level; the original was power-amp breakup at high volume, which this modeling amp simulates at lower gain numbers.
