Why these settings

Iommi ran bass at zero and maxed mids/treble/presence on the Laney, but the Spider IV Crunch channel is already mid-scooped and bright. I pushed mids to 8 to recover Iommi's bark and pulled treble back to 7 to avoid digital fizz. Bass at 2 keeps it tight like the original. The Rangemaster's treble boost is approximated by the bridge pickup wide open and the Spider's inherent gain structure—no pedal needed here.

PRO TIPIommi's attack comes from hard downstrokes with the pick angled slightly so the edge scrapes the string—this adds that signature grinding texture. Dig in hard on the downbeats; the tone falls apart if you play too soft.
