RECOMMENDED — not currently owned. The Orange Crush 12 cannot reach Uberschall saturation levels; a dedicated metal distortion pedal is essential. With the pedal, set amp gain to 3-4 instead of 10.

Why these settings

The Bogner Uberschall is a dedicated high-gain metal amp; the Orange Crush 12 is a 12W solid-state practice amp with a 6" speaker that cannot physically produce that saturation. I've maxed the Crush's gain to get as close as possible, but the tone will be loose and fizzy rather than tight and chunky. The Crush 12 has only gain/bass/treble/volume — no mid, presence, or reverb knobs. A metal distortion pedal is strongly recommended; with one, drop amp gain to 3-4 and let the pedal handle saturation.

PRO TIPPalm-mute aggressively right at the bridge saddles for that percussive 'chunk' — the original uses very tight, consistent muting. Tune to Drop D (D-A-D-G-B-E) as the song requires it.
