Why these settings

The Epiphone Studio10s is a 10W solid-state practice amp that cannot physically reach Bogner/Rectifier saturation levels even at max gain. Gain at 10 gets you entry-level crunch only. A distortion pedal is mandatory for this tone. Mid pushed to 7 compensates for the small speaker's weak midrange and captures the Uberschall's bark. Bass reduced to 4 prevents the 6" speaker from flubbing on Drop D palm mutes.
