RECOMMENDED — not currently owned; adds the heavy valve-distortion fuzz saturation
The Fame MA-15 is a compact practice amp with a 2-band EQ (no mid or presence controls), so mid and presence are set to null while bass and treble carry the frequency shape. To capture the thick, heavy valve overdrive without pedals, run the amp's built-in Overdrive channel at gain 7 with the Strat's neck pickup to thicken the single-coil low end. If you later add a fuzz or tube distortion pedal, switch the amp to Clean with gain at 2 and let the pedal generate the main dirt.
