Cafo amp settings — Line 6 Helix Floor
The Animals as leaders guitar tone for “Cafo”, dialed in for a Line 6 Helix Floor with a Ibanez RG8 8-String. Studio version, Animals as Leaders (2009) — signature rhythm sweeps and main riff
Ibanez RG2228 8-string (EMG 808s) -> Fractal Audio Axe-Fx Ultra (Das Metall / Diezel VH4 amp model into 4x12 cab IR) with Tube Screamer boost and hard noise gate

01Horizon Gate (Input Noise Gate block)
Fast-clamp noise gate at input to keep 8-string palm mutes dead quiet
02Screamer (TS808 Drive block)
Used strictly as a clean boost to cut sub-bass flub before the high-gain preamp
On an 8-string, sub-bass easily turns into mud under high gain, so the amp bass is pulled back to 4 and pre-filtered with a high-level, zero-drive Screamer block. The Helix German Ubersonic/Mega Power amp model gives the tight, fast-tracking German high-gain bark of the original Diezel/Fractal patches. Stock Ibanez RG8 passive pickups have slightly softer output than active EMGs, so keep guitar volume maxed and treble bright at 7 for clean sweep articulation.
