The DSL1HR's Classic Gain channel dialed up to 7 emulates the power-amp breakup of a cranked non-master-volume Plexi without introducing modern preamp fizz. The Les Paul Standard 50s humbuckers provide similar output to Angus's PAFs, but slightly more body, so midrange is pushed to 7 with treble at 6 for cut. Note that the DSL1HR panel lacks a presence knob, so tone shaping relies entirely on the 3-band EQ and Tone Shift (leave Tone Shift off).
