RECOMMENDED — not owned. The Laney's built-in chorus cannot replicate the stereo width and pristine JC-120/PCM41 shimmer of the original. A Boss CE-2W (Waza Craft, CE-1 mode) or TC Electronic 1210 Spatial Chorus gets you 90% there. Run into the amp's front input, set the amp to clean with low gain.
The Laney Mini Superg is a high-gain Marshall-voiced practice amp; the original used a scooped, ultra-clean solid-state Roland JC-120. To compensate: gain dropped to 2 (keep preamp clean), bass cut to 6 (Laney is warmer/thicker than JC-120), mid kept neutral at 5, treble raised to 7 for Strat-like bell tone. Your SG's humbuckers are hotter and darker than the original Strat single-coils; using the neck pickup with tone wide open gets closer to the glassy character, but you'll still have more body. The Laney's onboard chorus is mono and won't deliver the stereo depth that defines this tone — an external stereo chorus pedal (CE-2W or 1210) is essential to match the original's width.
