Why these settings

The Valvestate 8080's OD2 channel is voiced tighter and more scooped than a real JCM 800, so mid is pushed to 7 (vs Slash's typical 5-6) to recover that Marshall bark. Treble dropped to 6 because the solid-state section adds harshness the tube original didn't have. Gain at 7 gets you into Slash territory without fizz — the 8080 doesn't compress like a cranked tube head, so backing off slightly keeps it defined.

PRO TIPSlash's attack comes from picking right over the bridge pickup pole pieces with a heavy pick angled slightly — dig in hard on downstrokes for that aggressive chunk, then lighten up for lead lines to let the Les Paul's sustain bloom.
