Run through FX loop if possible on Katana (use BOSS Tone Studio to route). Regen pushed high for the through-zero jet effect. If no FX loop access, run in front—tone will be slightly different but still flanged.

Why these settings

The Katana's Brown channel models the cranked Plexi voicing Eddie used. I pushed mids to 7 (vs original 6) because the Katana's Brown mode is slightly scooped compared to a real Variac'd Plexi under load. Treble dropped to 6 because your Kramer's Seymour Duncan humbucker runs hotter than Eddie's hand-wound PAF, which would push the high end harder. Gain at 7 gets the saturation without mud—Eddie's 'brown sound' came from power tube breakup, which the Brown amp type emulates.

PRO TIPThe flanger sweep on the main riff wasn't programmed—Eddie's fixed settings just happened to sync with the song's tempo. Set your flanger speed so one full sweep cycle takes roughly 2 bars at 138 BPM; kick it on right at the downbeat of the riff for the sweep to land correctly on the chord changes.
