Why these settings

The Katana's Brown amp type is modeled on the exact Plexi-style voicing EVH used. Your Squier Bullet's ceramic single-coils are brighter and lower-output than EVH's overwound humbucker, so I dropped treble from 7 to 6 and pushed mids to 7 to compensate for the thinner midrange. Bass drops to 4 because single-coils lack the low-end push of a humbucker — higher bass would get flubby. The Katana's Brown channel has enough gain headroom to nail this without pedals.

PRO TIPEVH's right-hand palm muting on the main shuffle riff is extremely tight — mute hard right at the bridge saddles with the heel of your picking hand, and use all downstrokes with a stiff wrist to get that percussive, chugging attack. The intro tapping section benefits from the Katana's built-in Phaser effect set slow if you want the swirl.
