The Spark 40 has no physical presence control on its faceplate, so high-end cut is shaped via the treble knob and the onboard Tube Drive block's Tone control. The Dean VX passive humbuckers need the onboard Tube Screamer boost (Drive 0, Level 9) to tighten the low-end flub and replicate the percussive Dimebucker/5150 attack from the Ascendancy sessions. Keep amp gain around 6 to prevent muddy saturation on fast 16th-note galloping.
