Why these settings

The SubZero H-50R is a budget solid-state hybrid with less natural chime than the AC30. Compensate by pushing treble +1 and mid +1 vs typical AC30 settings to recover harmonic sparkle. Keep gain extremely low—Hank's tone was pristine clean with all grit coming from pick attack, not amp breakup. The Volante is perfect here; the original Meazzi Echomatic was a magnetic drum echo, and Volante's Drum mode replicates that warm, slightly degraded repeat character authentically.

PRO TIPHank Marvin's vibrato is slow, wide, and comes from the wrist—not finger wiggle. Apply it at the END of sustained notes, not immediately. Pick closer to the neck for that rounded, singing attack, and let the Volante's repeats fill the space rather than adding more notes.
