Why these settings

The small X-Gear/XGTR 15W practice amp cannot produce tight high-gain saturation on its own without turning muddy, so the UM300 serves as the primary distortion engine into the clean channel. Per the double-gain rule, the amp gain is kept low at 2 with flat EQ, while the UM300's semi-parametric EQ sculpts Daron's signature aggressive upper-mid bite and tight low end. The amp has a basic 2-band EQ, so mid and presence controls are omitted.

PRO TIPTune the guitar to Drop C (C-G-C-F-A-D) and strike aggressively with heavy downpicks close to the bridge using a stiff pick (1.0mm+) for the rapid, percussive chug transients.
