Why these settings

Your Strat's single coils are brighter and lower output than the original Les Paul humbuckers. Mids pushed to 8 (vs original 7) to compensate for the Strat's natural mid-scoop. Treble dropped to 5 (vs original 6-7) because single coils add high-end bite. Bass reduced to 5 to keep palm mutes tight since single coils lack the low-end thump of humbuckers. ISF set British to approximate the JCM800's mid-forward voice.

PRO TIPRoll your tone knob to 7 to fatten the single coils slightly toward humbucker territory—wide open will sound too glassy for this riff. Dig in hard with the pick right over the bridge pickup for that percussive 80s attack.
