Why these settings

The Deviser TG-20 practice amp has a 2-band EQ (no mid, presence, or reverb controls), so mid, presence, and reverb are set to null. Because Brian May got his thick midrange grind from a Treble Booster slamming the power section of a cranked AC30, we engage the TG-20's overdrive channel at moderate gain (6) and round off the treble (5) to prevent the single coils and small 8-inch speaker from sounding brittle. Pairing the Stratocaster's bridge and middle pickups mimics Brian May's classic series pickup hum-canceling tone. For the clean verses, roll your guitar's volume knob down to around 4-5.

PRO TIPUse a rigid coin (like an English sixpence or a hard metal pick) instead of a standard plastic plectrum, striking the strings at a slight angle near the bridge to recreate Brian May's distinctive metallic rasp and harmonic bloom.
