01ZNR (Noise Gate)
Essential for cutting noise during tight staccato djent/metalcore chugs
02TS Drive (Tube Screamer boost)
Used purely as a clean boost to tighten bass before the high-gain amp model
The Zoom G1 Four uses the ED5150 amp block paired with an onboard TS Drive clean boost to replicate Polaris's classic 5150 rhythm chain. Because the Cort CR250 features classic PAF-style humbuckers that are slightly darker and lower output than Polaris's high-output Bare Knuckle pickups, the TS Drive tone is pushed to 7 and amp treble to 7 to deliver precise articulation on Drop G# / low-tuned chugs. Amp gain stays at 6 because the 5150 model saturates early when pushed by the level-boosted overdrive block.
