Why these settings

Hiwatt DR103s are clean, loud, and mid-forward with tight bass—the Katana Crunch type at low gain approximates this platform. The Big Muff provides ALL the saturation; amp gain stays at 3 to avoid mud. Katana's Crunch voice has similar mid presence to a Hiwatt; boosted mids to 7 compensate for the Strat's natural scoop vs the P-90 Les Paul used on the solo.

PRO TIPFor the solo, roll your tone knob down to 5-6 and switch to the neck pickup—Gilmour's singing sustain comes from the Muff into a clean amp with the neck pickup's rounded attack, not from cranked amp gain.
