01Boss Katana Onboard Compressor

Critical for the gated/compressed sustain — use BOSS COMP model in Tone Studio

Sustain 7 · Attack 8 · Level 5

02Boss Katana Onboard Muff Fuzz

Use 'Muff Fuzz' in Tone Studio — tone rolled back for smoothness per Gilmour's 30-40% setting

Sustain 7 · Tone 3 · Level 5

03Boss Katana Onboard Phaser

Use 'Phaser' effect — rate very slow (Gilmour ran Phase 90 at 10-11% for subtle swirl)

Rate 2 · Depth 4 · Resonance 3
Why these settings

Your Pacifica's ceramic single coils are brighter and lower output than Gilmour's P90s, so I rolled treble back to 5 (original Hiwatt was 6) and pushed mids to 6 for warmth. The Katana's Crunch channel at low gain provides a clean platform for the onboard Muff Fuzz to be the gain source — amp gain stays at 3 to avoid muddy stacking. The compressor is essential here; Gilmour's signal was heavily gated/compressed before hitting the amp.

PRO TIPPlay with your fingers or a light pick attack near the neck pickup for that vocal, singing sustain — Gilmour's tone on this solo breathes because he lets the compression and fuzz do the work while playing dynamically, not digging in hard.
