Why these settings

The Fender Scream 90 is a solid-state practice amp with limited headroom compared to the original's tube JCM2000. Your Strat's single coils are lower output and brighter than the original humbuckers—compensate by boosting mids +2 over the original settings (8 becomes 7 here relative to Fender voicing), rolling treble back from 6 to 5, and cutting bass by 1 to avoid flub. Without an OD pedal, you will not achieve the compressed, harmonically-rich saturation of the recording; the amp's gain alone will sound thinner and buzzier.

PRO TIPRoll your Strat's tone knob to 7 on the bridge pickup to remove the ice-pick high end that single coils add—this mimics the warmer top-end rolloff of the original's humbuckers and prevents brittle pick attack on the big power-chord sections.
