01Noise Gate (Spark built-in)

Essential for the tight stops in the riff — Dimebag used a Rocktron Hush IIC. Enable in Spark's noise gate section.

Threshold 6 · Decay 3

02Graphic EQ (Spark built-in or RECOMMENDED external MXR 6-Band)

This V-curve scoop is non-negotiable for the Walk tone. Use Spark's parametric EQ pedal block to approximate: cut 400-800Hz hard, boost 100Hz and 3kHz.

100Hz 7 · 200Hz 5 · 400Hz 3 · 800Hz 2 · 1.6kHz 4 · 3.2kHz 7
Why these settings

The Spark's Metal model has more mid-presence than Dimebag's solid-state Randall, so mids are dropped to 3 and the EQ block scoops further at 800Hz. Your Mockingbird's humbuckers are hotter than the L-500XL, so gain stays at 7 rather than maxed. The Randall's tight transient response is hard to replicate in a modeling amp — use the noise gate aggressively and pick hard directly over the bridge pickup.

PRO TIPDimebag picked extremely hard with a heavy pick (1mm+) angled sharply, and his right hand sat almost on the bridge saddles — this 'choked' picking position is 40% of the attack you hear. Practice the main riff with palm mutes barely touching the strings, not smothering them.
