Dimebag's Randall RG100ES is solid-state with extremely tight, uncompressed transients and a naturally scooped voicing. The JVM is a tube amp with more mid-forward British character and natural compression. To compensate: dropped mid from the original's 3 to 2 to achieve the V-curve scoop, reduced gain from 8-9 to 7 because the JVM's OD2 Orange saturates faster and compresses more than the Randall, and pulled presence back from 8 to 6 to avoid the fizz that JVM presence adds at high gain. The EC-1000's EMG 81 is hotter and more compressed than Dimebag's passive Bill Lawrence, so less gain is needed to reach equivalent saturation.

PRO TIPTune to D Standard and use extremely precise, aggressive downpicking with palm mutes slightly lifted off the strings—the 'Walk' groove lives in the space between fully muted and open. The Randall's solid-state attack is unforgiving, so on the JVM you'll need to dig in harder with the pick to replicate that percussive snap.
