Why these settings

The Vox VT80+'s NU METAL model approximates the tight, scooped Randall solid-state character better than the British-voiced models. Your Ibanez S670FM's humbuckers are hotter than the L-500XL, so gain is held at 8 instead of maxed. Mid is dropped to 4 to achieve Dime's signature scoop — the Vox's mid control is more prominent than the Randall's.

PRO TIPDimebag doubled the opening melodic arpeggio section — record it twice panned left/right to nail that studio width. For the final harmonic squeals, hit the natural harmonic at the 4th fret G string while engaging the pitch shifter and slowly raising it with the expression pedal.
