Why these settings

Original used a Randall solid-state clean channel which is scooped and hi-fi. Your Fender Super 60 has warmer tube cleans with natural mid presence, so mid stays at 6 rather than scooped, and treble drops to 5 to avoid the Fender sparkle overpowering the haunting quality. Gain at 2 keeps it pristine. Without a volume pedal, you lose the signature swells — use your guitar volume knob manually for the effect.

PRO TIPThe magic of this tone is the volume swells creating that orchestral fade-in on each chord. Roll your Tele's volume to 0, strike the chord, then smoothly roll up to 8 over about 1 second — practice the timing until the attack disappears completely.
