Why these settings

The Behringer HA-10G is a 10-watt practice amp with extremely limited gain and no mid control—it cannot produce Dimebag's tone on its own. I've maxed the gain and pushed treble to compensate for the amp's weak distortion and dark voicing. Without a distortion pedal and EQ pedal, you will get a thin, buzzy approximation at best. The Les Paul's humbuckers are hotter than Dime's Bill Lawrence pickup, so if you add pedals, back off pedal gain by 1.

PRO TIPDime's picking hand was the secret weapon—he picked hard and close to the bridge with the pick angled sharply. Practice palm-muting right at the saddles with aggressive downstrokes to get that tight, percussive chunk even on limited gear.
