Why these settings

The SX GA-1065 is an unrecognized small solid-state amp — knob names may differ on your faceplate. Randy's tone came from a cranked Plexi pushed by an MXR Distortion+; your amp lacks the gain to reach this on its own, so a distortion pedal is mandatory. I pushed mid to 8 to compensate for the Strat's naturally scooped character vs Randy's mid-heavy Les Paul humbucker, and kept bass at 3 to maintain the tight low-end Randy dialed in.
