Why these settings

Your Twin Reverb is the ideal platform—Kurt used clean Fender amps with pedal distortion. Keep amp gain at 3 for slight warmth without breakup; the DS-1 provides all the grit. Your Jazzmaster's bridge pickup is brighter than Kurt's DiMarzio-loaded Jaguar, so I rolled DS-1 Tone to 4 (vs the typical 5) to tame high-end harshness. Mid pushed to 7 to compensate for Twin's natural mid-scoop.

PRO TIPFor the clean verse tone, you're missing a chorus pedal—roll your tone knob to 5, use neck pickup, and pick softly near the neck for a darker, haunting quality. If you add a Small Clone or any chorus later, set Rate slow (2-3) and Depth high (7-8) for that underwater shimmer.
