Why these settings

The GA10E is a basic solid-state practice amp with only gain, bass, treble, and master volume—no mid, presence, or reverb knobs exist on your faceplate. The original Quad Reverb was warm and saggy with rolled-off highs; your amp is brighter and stiffer, so I've cut treble to 4 and pushed bass to 6 to approximate that dark fullness. Keep gain low at 2—this is a clean tone, not overdriven.

PRO TIPRoll your guitar's volume knob to 7 and tone to 6—this is how Cobain got that slack, rounded attack on the recording. Pick closer to the neck for extra warmth, and let notes ring into each other; the song's atmosphere comes from sustain and space, not definition.
