Why these settings

The MG15CFR has no mid knob — use the Contour at 3-4 (counterclockwise, toward 'full mids') to avoid the scooped sound that kills punk bite. The OD channel gets close to early DC hardcore crunch. Original was a cranked Marshall with mids pushed — your amp's OD channel is voiced similarly but with less headroom, so gain 7 delivers comparable saturation without fizz. Bass stays low (3) because Lyle Preslar's tone was tight and cutting, not boomy.

PRO TIPDig in hard with downstrokes on the low strings and let the pick attack do the work — DC hardcore tone comes from aggressive right-hand technique more than gain. Palm-mute the chugging parts loosely for that raw Dischord sound.
