The studio rhythm was tracked direct into the console with aggressive studio compression, so the ultra-clean Twin Reverb with the Bright switch engaged provides the closest pristine, percussive headroom. Mids are boosted slightly to keep the Strat's 'in-between' notch frequency cutting and tight without getting too scooped or thin. Keep the reverb completely off because this iconic 80s funk track is bone dry.
