Why these settings

Your Epiphone Explorer has humbuckers vs the original's single coils—treble dropped from 7 to 6, tone knob rolled to 7 to shed some thickness and approximate the Strat's glassiness. ISF set fully American (CCW) to mimic the JC-120's scooped, hi-fi clean character. Gain kept at 2 for headroom; the JC-120 is famously clean.
