Why these settings

The MG250DFX's OD2 channel is your only path to this gain level — it's voiced darker and looser than a Mark IIC+, so I dropped bass from the original 6 to 5 and cut mids harder (2 vs original 3-4) to approximate the scooped thrash character. Your Strat's single-coil bridge pickup is significantly lower output and brighter than Hetfield's EMGs, so gain is maxed at 8 and treble stays at 7 rather than pushing higher. The Contour knob (MG-specific mid scoop) is set to 7 to dig out the mids further. This gets you in the ballpark, but the tone will lack the tight low-end compression and pick attack definition of active humbuckers.

PRO TIPHetfield's tone lives in his right hand — strict downpicking with the pick angled slightly and planted near the bridge. Palm mute hard and consistent; the 'chunk' comes from muting pressure, not amp settings. If your Strat sounds too thin and spanky, try rolling the tone knob to 7-8 to tame the ice-pick highs the single coil adds.
