The Hightone HT-10 is a solid-state practice amp with a more neutral voicing than the Mark IIC+. To compensate for the lack of Mesa's saturated preamp compression and tube warmth, gain is pushed to 9 and mid is cut hard to 2 (vs the original's 3-4) to create the V-shaped scoop. Your Donner LP's passive humbuckers output less than EMG 81s, so gain stays maxed and bass is pulled slightly to 7 (vs 8) to prevent muddiness from the lower pickup output interacting with solid-state clipping. Treble at 7 compensates for the amp's lack of presence control bite.

PRO TIPDownpick everything with a rigid wrist motion and dig into the strings hard — Hetfield's tone is 50% technique. Palm-mute tightly at the bridge with the heel of your picking hand for that percussive chug, and tune down to Eb standard (Eb Ab Db Gb Bb Eb) as the original recording used.
