The original used active EMG 81 pickups with massive output and tight low-end; your Strat's passive single-coils have significantly lower output and less compression. I've pushed gain to 9 and bass to 7 to compensate for the thinner, brighter voice of single-coils. Mid is set to 2 (vs original's 3-4) because Strat pickups have less inherent mid-push than humbuckers — scooping further would thin the tone out entirely. Treble at 8 retains the cutting high-end clarity Hetfield's tone demands. This is the closest approximation on passive single-coils, but the tone will be brighter and less thick than the original — a humbucker-equipped guitar (or an overdrive pedal like a Tube Screamer to thicken the mids and tighten the bass) would get you significantly closer.
