01Boss GT-1 — OD-1/TS Sim

Use the TS or OD-1 model in the GT-1's drive section. This is your primary gain source — the amp stays low-gain to stay tight.

02Boss GT-1 — Parametric EQ or GEQ

Boost 2-3kHz to replicate JCM800 bark. Cut sub-bass to keep it tight.

03Boss GT-1 — Noise Suppressor

High-gain thrash needs gating. Set threshold just high enough to kill hum between riffs.

Why these settings

The Frontman 212R is a solid-state Fender — clean, scooped, no natural breakup. The JCM800 original is mid-forward and crunchy. I dropped amp gain to 3 to avoid the Frontman's harsh solid-state clipping; the GT-1's TS sim provides the gain instead, staying tighter. Mids pushed to 6 (vs original's 4-5) to compensate for Fender's scoop. Treble dropped to 5 because the Frontman is already bright and the TS adds presence.

PRO TIPPalm-mute tightly and pick closer to the bridge for that Mustaine 'machine-gun' attack. The tone lives in the pick hand — loose muting turns thrash into mud.
