01Boss CE-2 Chorus (or CE-5/CH-1 substitute)
RECOMMENDED — not currently owned. The chorus is non-negotiable for this tone; without it you have a clean Strat, not Mac DeMarco. A Boss CE-5, CH-1, or any analog chorus clone gets you there.
Engl Powerball II is a high-gain monster; the Fender Champion 40 original is a small solid-state clean platform. Set Powerball to Clean channel, gain at zero, and treat it as a pedal platform. Bass dropped 1 (Engl has more low-end resonance than Fender SS), treble raised 1 to compensate for Engl's darker voicing. The Strat neck pickup matches the original Teisco's warmth. Tone knob rolled to 7 mimics the original's slightly muffled top-end. You MUST add a chorus pedal — the warble is the entire aesthetic.
