RECOMMENDED — not currently owned. The Frontman 15's built-in overdrive cannot achieve the saturated high-gain needed for this tone. A DS-1 ($50 new) or used RAT gets you there. Run amp gain at 3-4 when using this pedal.
The Frontman 15 is a practice-level solid-state amp that cannot produce authentic high-gain pop-punk saturation on its own—its overdrive is thin and fizzy at high settings. Without a distortion pedal, push the amp gain to 7 and compensate with boosted mids (+6) to add body the Fender naturally lacks.
