Essential for tight palm mutes and preventing hum between phrases—Delson used a Boss NS-2 live for this reason

Threshold 4 · Decay 3
Why these settings

Your Fernandes Strat has single coils vs the original's hot humbuckers—gain is pushed +1 (to 8) to compensate for lower output, and bass is pulled -1 (to 5) because single coils already have tighter low-end. Treble dropped -1 (to 5) because Strat bridge pickups are inherently brighter and the Recto sim can get fizzy. The MG-400's Recto model is your best match for the Dual Rectifier's scooped-but-punchy voicing.

PRO TIPPalm mute directly over the bridge saddles, not further up the strings—this keeps the Drop D low-end tight and percussive like the record. If your single coils sound thin on the chugs, roll the tone knob down to 6 to thicken the attack.
