Why these settings

The Vox Pathfinder 10 is a solid-state practice amp with no gain staging or distortion circuit — it stays clean at all volumes. The original tone requires a Dual Rectifier's saturated preamp, which this amp cannot replicate. You MUST use a high-gain distortion pedal as the sole gain source; the amp settings above are for the Pathfinder running clean as a platform. Tone knob at 6 compensates for the Pathfinder's bright voicing and the AZES40's single-coil-sized humbuckers being brighter than Borland's full humbuckers.

PRO TIPTune to Drop C# (C#-G#-C#-F#-A#-D#) — 'My Way' is unplayable in standard tuning. Use 11-52 gauge strings minimum; your stock 9s will be floppy spaghetti in drop tuning. Palm mute hard directly over the bridge saddles for that percussive chunk.
