Mesa/Boogie Dual Rectifier (Red Modern High Gain channel), PRS CE-24 or Jackson Rhoads with Seymour Duncan Invader humbuckers, tuned Drop D, no drive pedal — amp saturation only

| Gain | 10 |
| Bass | 7 |
| Treble | 6 |
| Reverb | 0 |
| Master | 5 |
01High-Gain Distortion Pedal (Boss DS-1, Metal Zone MT-2, or similar)
RECOMMENDED — not currently owned. The SP-10 cannot produce nu-metal saturation on its own; a distortion pedal is essential. When using this pedal, keep amp gain at 3-4 instead of maxed.
The original uses a Mesa Dual Rectifier's cascaded high-gain preamp for saturation — the Fender SP-10 is a 10W solid-state practice amp with minimal preamp gain that cannot approach this territory even maxed. Without a distortion pedal, these settings give you the amp's maximum grit, but expect clean-to-light-breakup rather than nu-metal chunk. With the recommended pedal, drop amp gain to 3-4 and let the pedal handle saturation. Bass boosted +1 vs original to compensate for the small 6" speaker's weak low-end; treble slightly cut because the SP-10 runs bright.
