Why these settings

The Pignose Hog 30 is a small solid-state practice amp with only gain, bass, and treble controls—no mid, presence, or reverb knobs. Your Les Paul's humbuckers are warmer and hotter than the original Tele single coils, so treble is pushed to 7 to recover some of that thin, bell-like brightness, and bass is cut to 3 to prevent mud. Gain stays near minimum because this tone is bone-dry clean—the character comes entirely from the reverb, which you'll need to add externally.

PRO TIPRoll the Les Paul's tone knob back slightly to 8 to tame the humbucker's thicker upper-mids and get closer to that brittle Tele-on-the-bridge spank. Play with your fingers near the bridge for that scratchy, intimate attack you hear on the record.
